Welcome to my Github site. I’ve always been fascinated by language, from living abroad in Morocco during my undergrad years to acquiring French nationality after studying the language of Molière in Paris. I’ve made it a point to hone my multilingual communication skills over the last decade or so, which has led to an understanding of language grammar, syntax, and reasoning that has helped me master programming languages during my transition into tech. I have nearly 10 years’ experience working as a professional translator on editorial, legal, and technical texts.

With a newfound passion for computer science, I completed my master’s at Northeastern University’s Silicon Valley Campus in May 2025, where I worked as a graduate research assistant for three years with a focus on artificial intelligence and natural language processing under the guidance of Kenneth Church. Since October 2025, I have been working as a Software Engineer at Meta Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) under contract with Mindlance. Previously, I built a voice-enabled, RAG-based AI assistant and designed its physical hardware and enclosure for Nonnet AI. Prior to that, I worked applying state-of-the-art pretraining techniques, including RTD with GDES with the DeBERTav3 model on air traffic management (ATM) data during an internship at the NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI). During my time at Northeastern, I dived headfirst into training encoder and autoregressive models on some interesting downstream tasks, including machine translation, toxicity classification, GLUE tasks, and question answering, often within the scope of multilingual applications. I have also fine tuned models on novel tasks, generating technical acronyms from long forms in order to improve technical translation through post-editing, later integrating the model into a system to fact check the resulting predictions in the scientific literature.

In April 2025, I was a recipient of the Outstanding Student and Exceptional Student Leader awards at Northeastern University.

As an avid hiker, I can only go a short time without itching to get back onto a mountain or trail of some kind. I have also set myself the goal of tasting an espresso from every coffee roaster in the Bay Area. In my remaining time, you may find me tinkering with edge AI on my Jetson Orin Nano or exploring yet another beach within driving distance of the Silicon Valley.
